Prompt to install WMP 10 in XPSP2

So I decided to let it do it. Of course is failed and succeeded at the same
time. The message was Windows Media Player Set up did not succeed because
you did not have Windows Media Player 9 installed. Please install WMP 9
then return to setup WMV 10. So of course that is not possibe. Because for
one WMP 10 does not appear in Add\Remove. It failed. But then of course
WMP 10 is on the machine and palyed a video file test just fine. But of
course it failed so Audio CDs can no longer be played. Device is not
recognized. Of course it succeeded because the audio and video from the
video file is just fine. But of course it failed. I really do not like
this company. As for dealing with the Public they are one of the best but
making software which works they are really out in left field.

you can restore the missing entry by exporting this registry key from
another XP SP2 machine in which WMP10 installed.

Start>run>regedit>ok
now navigate to the following key:-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Windows

Media Player

Apply the REG in your computer.

otherwise:-
See if this REG file helps:

Were you writing a poem or what? what exactly is the problem? Can't
you write in two or three sentenses? There is no point in criticising
any companies when it is likely that you lack intelligence to run
software on your own system.

He (George) always posts to troll or as I call it fish for people to get to answer him and then he pulls the MS Wrong routine with either a KB or his intellectual explanation. Do a Find on all his posts here in this group and you will see what I mean.Best to ignore in my opinion
