Progress indicator gone ...

When I click send/receive the progress indicator box used to show to show
the progress of each email account then disappear when finished. Now it
does not show. If I click on the bottom right of the outlook window and
select details it shows.
I did not change anything I am aware of.
Any thoughts?

After furious head scratching, Chris asked:
