Programs Slow to Start After Startup

I recently upgraded from Windows ME to XP Home. After the
upgrade, I had to remove NAV. At that time, the startup
was fine. Since reinstalling NAV 2003, programs are very
slow to start after Windows startup (for about two
minutes; after that, they open fine). I have no problems
opening file folders and such, but programs such as
Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, and even NAV are very
slow. I've tried setting NAV not to start with Windows,
but it doesn't make a difference.

I'm not sure what system information would be relevant
here, but I have a 15GB hard drive with 384 MB RAM. There
are no programs in my Startup folder, but Outlook
Calendar, NAV, and Pop-Up Stopper are set to startup with
Windows (and all were previously set to startup this way).

Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem what I ended up doing was
completely removing nav and then rebooting then doing a
complete reinstall of nav again.
so far after 3 months no problems

I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

Well, I gave that a shot. With NAV uninstalled, the
system started up quickly with no lag time to start other
programs. But as soon as I reinstalled NAV, the lag came
back. That at least lets me know it's something with NAV
that's causing the problem. I guess I'll check out
Symantec's site and see what I can find.

Thanks for the suggestion.
