programatically changing outgoing SMTP servers

I

Ian Wolstenholme

Hello,

I use a different broadband ISP at home and at work. I have several e-mail
accounts for managing different businesses etc... I don't really want to
change anything but I have found it VERY tedious to change the outgoing SMTP
server name every time I go home or arrive at work.

I tried setting up a different mail profile, but I found that all my
favourites were lost in the new profile. Where is this information held so I
can copy or use the favourites info in both profiles (and if I add something
or delete it I need to be abel to see that change in both profiles).....

Ideally does anyone know of a way of programatically changing the outgoing
SMTP server through a VBA macro ?

Or is there an alternative to the above scenario I haven't even considered
??

Many Thanks

Ian

It's held in the Windows registry, potentially different locations depending
on your Outlook version and configuration. In fact, if you mention your
Outlook version, there might even be another solution.
