Program not Responding

When I go to shut my computer down a box appears with the
following message: End Program - hpoevm08.exe This
program is not responding. I then need to press End Now
for it to shutdown. This doesn't happen all the time,
but fairly often. What can I do about this?

I don't think this is a standard XP file.
Use the search facilty; review the file path;
right click and look at properties.
Using this information you'll probably be able to find
out which application or hardware-related item
this file belongs to.

Sounds like this might be your printer software.
Go to this key in regedit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
and give the auto end tasks a value of 1.
