Professional Over Home?

Matt

I currently have Windows XP Home Edition that came with
my computer when I bought it. I am interested in
upgrading to the Professional Edition. Doing this
upgrade, should it be a smooth process? Also, I will
probably be using the Academic Version of the
Professional Edition. Is there any difference between
the regular retail product and the academic version?
Does the academic version install easily over the home
edition?

Please let me know!

Thanks!

Hi Matt,

Yes, generally speaking, we should be able to easily upgrade Winxp Home
edition to Professional edition.

The academic versions of Windows XP indicate that the product has been
especially packaged and priced for sale to authorized education dealers.
The academic version box is marked as follows:

Academic Edition, Fully Functional Product, For Educational Use Only.
Education Identification required at time of purchase.

Generally speaking, the is no difference if you install academic version.
The whole process should be the same as you using retail version.
