Product Key

Hi,

I am trying to reload my XP. But I cant find my product code. I can not even
download these PKey finders as my IE wont allow me to run new programs via
it. My Internet Options menu in the Control Panel is gone and IE is running
in super basic mode. After hours of effort, I was told here, that I needed to
reinstall XP. So, I am.

Can anyone help me. Or send me the exe file to find my Product Key for XP.

thx

If Windows XP is still installed on the computer (if appropriate use another
computer to download the files) or if you can download the files only and
then run from the desktop:

If you purchased WinXP retail, the Product Key is on an orange label on the
back of the package. If you don't have the package, contact Microsoft:

If you have an OEM version of WinXP, the Product Key sticker should have
been placed on the computer tower by the retailer. Note, Microsoft will be
unable to assist you with an OEM version.

I suppose you've looked in the usual places like PC case, PC back panel, CD
sleeve marked "Do not lose this key" etc?

Keyfinder 2.0 (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html) is supposed to be
able to retrieve a key from an off-line registry (untried). To make use of
the product, you would have to connect your disk as a slave disk or USB disk
to some other WinXP PC where Keyfinder is installed. Once you have retrieved
the key I recommend that you record it in a printed register together with
all other product keys you have in order to protect your software
investment.
