I have lost my product id for installing windows xp home
edition. I'm trying to install it on my other computer
but can't without this product id, can anyone help me out
on how to obtain a new one?

As per the terms of the EULA, you need 1 copy of XP per computer. You
cannot install 1 copy on 2 computers, the 2nd will not activate...

Your problem is not that you don't have the Product ID. It's that
you may not do what you're trying to do. The rule is quite clear.
It's one copy (or one license) for each computer.
There's nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that's
been in effect on *every* version of Windows. The only thing new
with XP is that there's now an enforcement mechanism.
