I have a 1000 megahertz processor but my system shows 500

running slower and why does it show 500mgh.How can I
correct this?

It's a hardware problem, Jim. This is a software newsgroup. I suggest you
check out a general forum - try google.com.

Perhaps you have the front side bus speed set incorrectly in the BIOS.
Perhaps your processor is faulty. Perhaps you have a laptop with the
automatic "throttling back" feature enabled. Since you don't give any
more information, I can't be more specific.
