According to my CPU Meter (sidebar gadget) for some reason my CPU has "wound
up" to 100% and is staying there continuously. This has ONLY just happened
in past hour or so. You can "hear" the fan (I HOPE that's what it is?!?!!)
whirring away at full tilt...
I have 2.75gb RAM and thats at a constant 23% usage.
It has coincided with Windows Explorer (or more correctly, explorer.exe)
having stopped responding as well - I had to manually power off my computer
(that is...PULL the plug).
I have nothing running apart from Windows Mail (to type this!), Task Manager
and the sidebar.
Processes running in Task Manager are:
crss.exe 1040k
dwm.exe 17684k
ehmsas.exe 724k
ehtray.exe 576k
explorer.exe 18392k
ituneshelper.exe 1220k
sidebar.exe 17012k
sidebar.exe 6960k (huh? twice)
taskeng.exe 3000k
taskmgr.exe 2032k
winlogon.exe 1364k
winmail.exe 36080k
winssnotify.exe 1616k
wmpnscfg.exe 1056k
All of these I an identify EXCEPT the crss.exe and the 2nd (or is it the
1st?) sidebar.exe
Any thoughts? Sorry for length of post...
