I've got a machine (XP, SP2) that continues to run processes after the
executable is closed e.g. Open Microsoft word, close word, start task
manager, view processes and WINWORD.exe is still running, same with
all other office products and any other program that is run on the
machine. The computer appears to get bogged down consistently and I've
advised the user to try working with only 2 or 3 windows at a time but
checking the processes, they continue to run in the background after
closing? This is the only machine (out of 20 or so) this occurs on.
Any ideas? Malware software has been run and no *apparent* malware is
running, machine is scanned for viruses every Monday and has been
since it was deployed...help anyone?
