process still running afetr closed Internet Explorer

I seem to have some problems with my task manager. When I open my Internet
Explorer and close it when I am done using it, my task manager still says
that it is running. If I open another Internet Explorer and then close it
again it does the same. So after a while I have many Internet Explorer
processes running in my task manager. How can I fix this problem without
having to go into my task manager and hand deleting each process?

Which is still running:
explorer
iexplore
iexplorer

If the last, that's spyware.
If the first, that is always running.
