Problems writing to CD-RW

When I try to write to a CD-RW, whatever application I am using (Windows
Media Player or the built-in Windows CD writer), an error message is
displayed that says something to the effect of "An error ocurred while trying
to write your CD, please insert another and try again." I have tried to write
with several different brands of CD-RWs and every time the same thing
happens. CD-Rs work fine to write to, and it has no trouble reading either
CD-Rs or CD-RWs. Thanks for your help!

I haven't tried using any 3rd party software in a while, but from what I
remember, that never worked either.
