Problems with USB after SP2 install on WinXP Pro

Mike Webb

Upgraded a staff member's PC to SP2 this morning and had 2 USB devices quit
working/"talking" to the PC - one is an UPS by APC and the other a Dell (by
Logitech) mouse. A standard PS/2 mouse works fine. Haven't tried them on
another PC yet. Did a check of the SP2 Support Center at Microsoft, but
didn't see anything. Has anyone run into this? ANy ideas I can try?

(The PC is Dell Dimension 8300, P4 with 512mb RAM.)

Mike disconnect the USB Devices and then rt click MyComputer>select
Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>USB Controllers>expand and rt click each
one and choose Uninstall. Restart and let WinXP reinstall them. Reconnect
Devices.
