problems with taskbar

Hi,
My taskbar suddenly stopped working.
It doesn't show any files or windows which i minimize.
When I select the autohide option the taskbar dissappear,
and only narrow blue stripe appears when I point it with
the mouse.
When using taskbar properties when I disselect all the
toolbars (e.g. language bar) the taskbar just dissapear
and I need to open the control panel and using the
taskbar select autohide (because otherwise I won't see
anything)by right-clicking the blue stripe I can select
again one of the toolbars (lanhuage or quick launch) and
I the taskbar reappears.

Anyway the major problem is that I can't see which window
is open.
I'm using XP pro, and found no viruses on my machine.
