Problems with some peripheral devices not working after updates

After installing Service Pack 4 and critical updates, the
computer no longer recognizes my scanner and the digital
camera when connected.

Anyone have an idea why this is happening and what I can
do about it?

Check your DEVICE MANAGER to see if the items are listed and if they have a
yellow exclamation point (problem) . . . to see your device manager, RIGHT
CLICK on My Computer and choose PROPERTIES, then choose the HARDWARE tab
then the DEVICE MANAGER button.

You may need to simply reinstall the drivers for each item.
