problems with my scanner

My old computer has window 95, and I use to run HP laser
Jet 4L, together with my scanner canscan SB 630P , very
well, since I have a new computer operating system Window
WP, my scanner is not working, somebody told me to buy a
connector from parallel port to USB, but I have another
advice to buy a new scanner. Will you please help me how
to fix this problem with my scanner. Thanks.

Use the Hardware Compatibility List to check if your scanner is supported in
Windows XP. If it is older than about three years, it is probably not going
to work in XP. Check the Canon website for XP drivers for the scanner and
information regarding the use of it in a Windows XP environment. I had an
HP Laser Jet II installed on my XP system and it worked fine. That printer
has got to be at least 12 years old! There seems to be a vast number of HP
printers and scanners that are supported in Windows XP for some reason.

Tour only solution is to buy a new scanner, they are much
better than your old scanner, faster, better resolution and
cheap. A good scanner can be had for less the $100.
