Problems with Internet Explorer after uninstalling Internet Explor

This problem started happening immediately after I uninstalled the Internet
Explorer 7 Beta (the latest release as of this writing). After uninstalling
Internet exlporer 7, my computer went back to the old version
(6.0.29900.2180). Now whenever I try to go to a internet page by typing in
the address in the address bar Internet Explorer (and often when a site
launches a pop-up, good or bad, the page from which I write this was a hassle
to get open) will try to launch a new window and will immediately crash (if
its because of a site launching a pop-up, it will sometimes work, but still
try to launch the new window, which does freeze). After it crashes I usually
have to go to the Task Manager and choose to stop the internet explorer
process as just ending the program won't work.

My computer is completely updated with microsoft's service packs and
security updates and what-nots, so I have no idea what's going on. I'm
almost certain Internet Explorer had something to do with it.

I went ahead and did a system restore from before I installed Explorer 7 and
that did the trick
