Problems with hyperlinks

My hyperlinks in my emails were working fine until yesterday when I decided
to give Google Chrome a try. I didn't like it so I went through the correct
process of deleting it.

After deleting it, when I try to click on a hyperlink to go to a website or
even within other Office programs and my Vista links to go online, I get an
error message that says "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions
in effect on this computer. Please contact your administrator."

Well, I am the administrator on this computer. I did a restore and it still
did not fix it.

Someone please help me get it fixed and tell me what is wrong with it. It is
driving me crazy!

Thanks,

Stephanie

Well excuse me. I have not received any other notices and I don't know where
someone is reading or not. I just happened to find a couple of other groups
after the fact and thought maybe someone in those would have an idea. Don't
read it if you don't want to.

Stephanie,
I wish I could help, I have been having the same problem and I have searched
high and low for an answer, all to no avail. It is driving me crackers also,
but I couldn't remember when or after doing what to my computer that I
started to have problems. I have had the problem for some weeks now. At least
now I know it was also when I tried Google Chrome, I also deleted it. So, it
must be a Google problem.
I'm glad I found someone else with the problem, I thought it was me, the
operator.
If I find anything I will let you know.

Hi Stephanie,
I've had a win!!! A few people have posted blogs on Google troubleshooting
site.
The whole thing is that you must make sure you make your earlier browser
(before installing and deleting Google Chrome) is set to your default browser
again. For XP :-
Go to START
-- control panel
--- internet options
----programs
-----halfway down the page is 'default web browser'
------click on 'make default' if it says Internet Explorer is not your
default browser.
BINGO !!!! I now have control over my emails again. All links in my emails
are now working and also all shortcuts on my desktop to websites, such as
banks etc are now working as well!! Phew, what a relief, thank heavens there
are some genuine savvy people out there telling us of their experiences, and
genuinely out to help others, not like that bloke, Peter, giving you a hard
time about that multi-posting crap. What a policeman! He needs to get a life,
he obviously doesn't understand one will look anywhere one can to find a
solution to a problem. I have been using computers since Commodore 64 days
and still get stuck sometimes. This is the answer to your problem! Good Luck,
Regards, Ingrid

I have already done this repeatedly. IE is set as the default. But I still
have the problem. Do I need to reinstall Chrome?
