Problems with applications.

I guess i am not alone with all the compatibility problems with Vista. I got
a new computer, with Vista of course and I cannot run some applications. I
need to use VectorWorks V9 and Sketchup 5 from google. I have tried the
compatibility wizard in Vista to Run the applications without success. The
sketchup people in their web site say up front they are not ready for Vista
yet.
I haven't any problems running autodesk applications like Autocad. Any
suggestions?
Thanks, Giodiep.

I installed it like normal.

On the first run of the program I ran it as Admin.

And after that I ran it like normal.

Hello and thanks for your replies. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I
guess there is a lot of differences between the Ultimate version. I tried
downloading the Sketchup 6 free version and it installed OK, the only problem
is that it open and freezes. I have it runnig like Xp with the properties
wizard and as an administrator but it wouldn't do any difference.

I have a similar problem with sketchup....
I have sketchup 6 and this rin perfectly on my xp pro desktop, however on my
vista home premium, it doesn't..... basically no matter what face or edge
style for rendering you select it always looks like a wireframe model with
the materials on the faces sometimes showing and sometimes not depending on
how you orbit the model.
I'm not a dunce when using sketchup, so i have been through all the
tranceparancy settings fotr the faces etc.

With Autodesk apps i have to run them as administrator in compatability mode
and they work fine. Its a bit of a pain that a lot of software manufacturers
are having so many issues with vista.

If anyone has any ideas on how to sort out sketchup then i would be greatful
to hear from you.
Cheers in advance!
Ben
