Problems with Active Desktop

B

B.J.

When I try to open "My Computer", "My Documents", "My
Network Places", or "Recycle Bin", I get an Active Desktop
error. Another symptom is that my Internet Explorer will
not open.

I can use all of the other programs (i.e. Word, Excel,
Outlook, etc...) without any issues. This occurs with all
users. However, I have no problems in Safe Mode.

Please Help.

I got same problem with a MS Win2k Machine. Start it a couple of minutes ago. It seems like a virus, I see three threads with the same problem in the forum including mine.

Having EXACT same problem as of afternoon of 4/2. Any
chance it is related to virus, spyware or other malware?

I don't know about you, but I found a solution to my problem -- Spy Sweeper!!! I used a trial version of the program and found tons of junk which I got rid of and presto -- m desktop now is functioning properly. DO a google for Spy Sweeper and check it out.
