Problems w/ VS.Net connecting to iPaq after ActiveSync 3.7 install

I am in the process of upgrading some iPaqs to Pocket PC 2003 (this is being
done on a different system from my development system).

I have just installed Actve Sync 3.7 on my development system and now when I
try to debug my application (which has worked for months) the VS Net
deployment step fails with:

Error: Cannot establish a connection. Be sure the device is physically
connected to the development computer.

I can go to Active Sync and explore my device without any problem Remote
Display Control Host (cerhost.exe) can connect fine and maintain the iPaq's
screen on my desktop so I know it's not a physical connection problem.

I've tried multiple re-boots of my desktop and soft resets of my iPaq and
nothing seems to work.

Any Suggestions?

is it version 3.7.0 or 3.7.1 ?

if 3.7.1 then that is the problem

i went back to 3.7.0

I'm sure it's 3.7 because I've numerous posts about the 3.7.1 Active Sync.

As I said, I can see the device in explorer and Remote Display Control Host
runs fine so I know I'm connected.

Anybody got any cllues on how to debug the VS.Net connectivity problems?

All my problems were solved by MS Knowledgebase article Q813579.

It seems uninstalling ActiveSync blows away some proxy registry settings
uset by .Net or debugging and deployment.

I had another working system so I was able to export the relevant keys and
import them into my non-functional system and everything is working again.
