Problems using RDC from my office to Home

R

Rob

All PC's using Win XP Pro.

I crashed my hard drive, to re-install Win XP on my
office machine. Since the re-installation I have been
unable to connect to my home PC using RDC. Prevoius to
the re-installation I was able to do connect.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Rob

Hi Rob,

After you resintalled did you go back into the System properties and turn
Remote Desktop on again?
Start - Right Click My Computer - Select Properties - Click on Remote Tab.
Check box for "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer."
You can configure the users by clicking on "Select Remote Users"
Click Ok.

This should turn it back on for you. If you are still having problems,
please let us know.

Thanks,
Nico Tomacelli

Yes, that was done.

When using RDC to browse to other pc's on the network
there are no issues, it is only when I try and connect to
my IP at home.

Thanks

What error message, if any, do you get? Are you calling the correct IP?

Were you using a VPN connection?

Are you still able to connect via that VPN connection?

Have you put back Service Pack 1 for XP and all critical security patches?
