problems linking tables in access

I am trying to link tables in Access 2003. when I click on the Link Table
wizard, and pick ODBC - it goes back to the same screen I was on. My ODBC
drivers are working fine, and I can access current tables - I am just having
a problem linking new ones. Can anyone help?

Steve G,

I'm having the EXACT same problem, but I have NO idea what happen to cause
the problem or how to fix it.

Has a solution been posted yet?

Shellburger,

No answer - this has been driving me crazy for months. Any time I need to
add a table, I need to go to another machine, and then e-mail it to myself.
Any answer you find would be greatky appreciated.

Did you check for any anti-virus that could interfere?

If you have Norton Antivirus 2006 installed, the first thing to do would be
to deactivate the Office Plug-in (you can reactivate it later, if you want
to). For any other anti-virus, check for anything that might be related to
Office or scripting. In case of doubt, deactivate the whole antivirus to
make sure that the problem doesn't come from there.

I actually uninstalled NAV 06 totally a while back to rule it out - didnt
help.

Any other thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I successfully fixed the problem by disabling NAV2006's Office Plug-in as
suggested.

I did find, however, that I needed to reboot my system before it worked.

Thank you!!!
