problems getting logged in via .net passport

User reported that when going to MSDN subscriptions
(https://profile.microsoft.com/RegSy...criptions%2faccount%2fManageSubscription.aspx)
and trying to log in via .net passport that the login window no longer
appears after SP2, get a “The page cannot be displayedâ€. I have not been able
to find a solution for this issue. I know it must be tightened security but I
am not sure what. If I add https://*.microsoft.com to trusted sites I do get
a message prompt saying trying to open a window in your trusted sites.

Make sure popup blockers are all disabled.

Otherwise try the resolutions documented in

<title>How to troubleshoot situations where you cannot complete MSN sign-up
or connect to SSL secured (128-Bit) Web sites by using Internet Explorer in Windows XP</title>
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;813444

The regsvr32 commands mentioned here may also help:

<title>KB831429 - Windows XP stops responding when you download updates from Windows Update</title>

Ignore the title and the distinction between the OS.
I am just suggesting that as a useful subset of the old IE Repair
(ref. KB194177)

For a more complete repair search my posts for reference to ieuinit.inf
where I document some typo corrections.
