Problems copying/moving *.pst file (Cyclical Redundancy Errors, etc.)

C

Chris D.

I am simply trying to move my *.pst file from my old
computer to my new computer. It's fairly large at
~450MB. I use Outlook XP.

When trying to copy the *.pst file, move it, burn it to a
CD, transfer it via my USB cable connection, etc. I get
one of several errors, like: "Cyclical Redundancy Error"
or "Object Cannot be Created." I have had similar errors
in trying to export all the contents from within outlook
to a new *.pst file, too.

Is a *.pst file more finicky than other files? How do
I "free it up" in order to transport it. Are there other
prescribed methods for ensuring safe transport of a large
*.pst file?

Thank you for any assistance.
