Problem

Some kids visited my place and changed some settings of word.

Normal Behavior. When i used to highlight any text and type a charater,
highlighted text used to get erased and typed charter used to appear.

Behavior Now: the text gets appended to the highlighted text. how do i
resolve this?

Tools>Options - Edit, restore the check for Typing Replaces Selection.
