Problem with Word installation

Each time I open two of my applications, a small screen appears and reads,
"Please wait while Windows configures Word 2000." Then, after several minutes
of this, it pops up another little screen which reads, "The feature you are
trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removable disk that is not available.
Insert the Microsoft Word 2000 disk and click OK"

The problem is that my computer did not come with any such disk. How can I
fix this? Thank you in advance for your kindness and help.

If your computer came with Word pre-installed, the supplier should also have
provided the original CDs, for Word or for Office. Assuming it's a licensed
copy of Word, that is. Go back to the supplier and rattle the bars.
Even if it's a second-hand PC, the vendor is still required to substantiate
the license.
