Problem with visual studio when creating database

hi when I was working on visual studio 9 and when I want to create database
I face this problem :
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.
When connecting to SQL server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact
that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error:40 - Could not open
connection to SQL Server)

and I can't make or link any database ?

I have a problem with my Access Data Base when trying to link.

I have Visual Studio Express and have extablished the connection driver (no
problem!). The problem is getting a result set and getting it on a grid box
for a Web-Programming .NET class I have.
