Problem with small peer network

I just finally got around to installing my copy of RC2 Beta yesterday. I
have a custom computer running on an Asus motherboard with an AMD 64 bit dual
core 2400 Mhz processor so I chose to install the x64 version of Vista. I
have run into several minor problems with drivers/software installations but
my most pressing problem is with my small network.

I originally had three computers running Windows 2k Pro. and one (laptop)
running XP Pro Sp2. Two of the computers have wireless cards and two are
hard wired. This little network worked just fine. Now that I have Vista on
one of the desktops I have problems. I can see and trade files with the
wireless XP pro computer but I can not even see the two Windows 2000 Pro.
computers. I also can not install my HP Deskjet 6127 network computer
software on the Vista machine. The software seems to install just fine right
up to the end when it is installing a port and it then incurs a fatal error
and I'm told to re-boot and try a re-install. I suspect this is really a
network problem because during the printer installation I can see that the
system has found the printer and assigned its IP address correctly.

Since I am new to Vista I haven't done a lot of reading on the OS so if my
questions seem infantile I ask you to forgive me. Is it not possible to
network the Windows 2000 computers on the same peer network with Vista and
XP? And, if it is possible can someone suggest what I might be doing wrong.
I have just about exhausted all the troubleshooting tips I found in Vista
Help.

Thanks for any help offered!

You might want to post this to
microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing. Hope you get it
resolved.
