Problem with site logons and Images on some web pages

I am seeking help on this matter for my daughter who has windows XP SP2 operating and using up to date IE6
She tells me that for about the last few weeks she is experiencing problems on websites . First on some pages thumbnail photos will not enlarge when she clicks on them and if she right clicks and looks in Properties it says "Pop UP Window Blocked ".
The second, probably connected ,problem is that on a couple of the Banking sites she uses nothing happens when she clicks on "Logon" .

I myself do not have XP I am still using win 98 so I am not too familiar with XP and its set up .
But I do know there have been a few Security Patches issued in the last few weeks which I thought might have caused this .

Note it is only on Web Pages this occurs no problems with the rest of the computer operation.
I know this is not much to go on but has anyone got any ideas . Any help would be appreciated.

Try pressing Ctrl- when she clicks?

BTW tell her to use her Help (press F1 and search for "Pop-up Blocker")

That's assuming that the symptom is being cause by IE6sp2.
If she has other apps which can block pop-ups she would have
to check on those herself.

(troubleshoot OR troubleshooting) (login OR logon OR secure) "internet explorer" XP site:support.microsoft.com

Thank you for that.
Have been in touch with her and yes pressing the ctrl key did get things to work so she will check out the configuration of the Pop Up Blocker . She tells me doing this actually got around the Login problem as well . I personally have never used a Pop UP Blocker so was not familiar with the affect they obviously have on some sites .
