problem with sharing files between 2 XP Pro systems

Ray Morrison

I have 2 identical systems direct connect over 100baseT
with the internet connection over cable thru a USB port.
System A is the gate to the net with System B only
connected to System A. Before rebooting both systems I
was able to see both systems in the Workgroup and now
System B can see the shared files on System A but System
A can not see System B shared files. Have checked IP
addressing, Workgroup naming, all of the usual gotcha's.
Both systems are using Simple File Sharing. Any help
would greatly be appreciated

Try:

1. On system A, Control Panel/Network and Internet Connections/Network
Connections. Click Advanced/Advanced Settings. Move the Local Area
Connection for the NIC connected to B to the top of the binding order.

2. On the Local Area Connection for the USB adapter, disable NetBIOS and
File and Printer sharing.
