Problem with selecting viewer

I have always used Kodak Easy Share to see any of my pictures. I never had
any problems until now.

When I click on the right mouse button, Open with Easy Share does not work.
If I choose any other program the picture opens. Any pictures that are in
the Kodak Easy share folder do open when I double click on them. Pictures do
not open if they are in an other folder.

Also when I place a check on: “Always use the select program to open this
kind of file†I click on OK but the check is never saved. How do I get the
"OK" to work.
My problem might be solved if I could save the "OK".

Any help would much appreciated.

Serge

PS: Getting rid of Kodak Easy Share is not an option :)

Click on Start and click on Run.
Type in (or copy and paste) the following in the box:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.

Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...

Then see if you get the OK button to work.

Tried it and I get SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded. I still can not save the OK
button.

When I go to My computer/tools/folder option/file types and I click on
change the window showing "Always use the select program to open this kind of
file†appears and on this one the OK button is checked.

The OK button is never checked when I click the right mouse button on a
picture.

Am I doing something wrong?

Try doing it another way instead of using the tools/folder option.
Right click on a photo file.
Click on Open with.
Click on Choose program at the bottom of the opening list.
A window will open, select the software you want and check the box
"Always....

I did reply to this message but it does not seem to have worked. Here I go
again.

I already had done what you suggested before I posted my original message.

If I click first on the Easy Share short cut on my work bench, the Easy
Share window appears. It takes a few seconds for the folders to appear.
Once the folders have appeared, Easy Share works as it should.

There is still no check in the box "Always..."

It is a very small inconvenient. I might have to learn to live with it and
hope that one of the future upgrade will fix the problem, be a Kodak or
Microsoft one.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
