Problem with selecting cells

Hi all,

I just got back to work after a couple weeks off and using Excel for the
first time since my return, I found a few things have changed. I am the only
person using my log on, but I'm sharing the computer with someone else (2
weeks in - 2 weeks out).

So here goes my problem: I love using the control or shift keys, combined
with the arrow keys, to select ranges, but as it stands now...

Ctrl+Shift+Arrow Up or Arrow Down don't work at all (even though Ctrl+Arrow
Up or Down work just fine, as well as Shift+Arrow Up or Down);

Ctrl+Shift+Arrow Left or Right moves me accross the sheet screen by screen
instead of from blocks of cells containing data to blocks of empty cells (or
vice-versa).

Another observation that I made, that may or may not be related to my
problem, is that cells containing text now systematically start with an
apostrophe in the formula bar (the cell on the sheet though, as expected,
doesn't display it). I don't think it causes a real problem, but as it is
new for me to see this, I thought it might be worth mentioning. If someone
knows how to change it, though, I'd be happy.

Thanks!

Hi

Go to Tools>Options>Transition and uncheck anything that has been set
there.

Tools>Options>Transition.

Uncheck the Transition Navigation Keys....that is giving you the jumping across
and the apsotrophe in the text cells.......or ^ for centered text and " for
right-aligned text

Uncheck all of the Transition options while in there.
