problem with replying to incoming messages

In Outlook 2007, when I send a reply to an incoming message it ends up in my
inbox. I have to select and open this message and click "Actions" in the
toolbar and then resend to successfully send the message. It is rather
strange. Can someone please help?
Sending a new message works normally as it should.

What type of account? Using Gmail by chance?
