Problem with PowerPoint Presentation On Web

I have a presentation I've created, I've saved as web pages (htm), and have
uploaded to the web site. I'm using 2003. The presentation plays, but none
of the effects work. It just displays the slides one at a time with a blank
white screen between them. Also, the first and last slide have music, but
the music doesn't play. I'm new to this so any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks

Could you provide us with a link to your presentation. You also might want to
read the information here http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/index.html#WEBifying

The presentation can be seen at cityofvalley.com. The link is the one to the

A lot of the fancy effects PPT can do in HTML will depend on your viewing the HTML
version with MSIE and appropriate security settings. On my test machine with MSIE
set to "Take me, I'm yours" (ie, relatively lax security settings) your
presentation seems to work ok (though I'm viewing it now out of the corner of my
eye and did see one white flash)

My (unasked for) two cents worth:

There are some timing issues from the PPT end, though. There are quite a few
slides where the content comes on using all sorts of effects, then some text
appears for a brief split-second and boom, we move to the next slide before
there's time to read anything.

Unless you can run this in a controlled environment, I'd suggest throttling WAY
back on the effects and animations and use action buttons to let the user control
when to move to the next slide.

And if this is being shown to anyone outside the Valley area, I'd include a map of
the area, a map showing the location of the mill and a little history/explanation
to orient the viewer. Otherwise you'll lose them before the tenth slide.

I'm in agreement with Steve's comments. If it were my presentation I would ditch
all effects other than maybe have the paragraphs and sub paragraphs appear one
after another rather way you have it now. You have to realize that your timings
can go askew because of the time it takes to download to the viewers console.
PowerPoint doesn't wait. It is following the timings you have set but depending
on how and the speed which it is being downloaded, they can appear/disappear
quicker than expected.

With a presentation of this size, I personally would let the viewer travel
through it at his/her own pace, with maybe a button with next and previous
slide. I could not get the sound to play for me.

You might look here for two things, the sound, and opening your presentation up
full screen. http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00428.htm

FWIW, the sound worked here, but it takes a while to start (just as you say,
there's that download time issue)

Thanks Steve. I guess it would help if I turned on my speakers. Sounded OK this
time.
