Problem with Policies in Windows XP Home

I have a problem with computer at home.

I keep getting a policy error when trying to install windows deffender.

I installed it on one computer, but this one has an issue.

I have the XP Home on both.

I know there is no Group Policy Snap-In for Home Edition, but I still get
the error.

The error says "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this
installation".

It only happens with some programs but not others and it don't matter if I
am in Safe Mode or not.

And yes.. I am logged in as the Administrator (In Safe Mode).. and Yes I
have an Administrator Account so when I need to install or make changes.

I always log in with a limited account as a saftey precausion but I don't
know.. I guess you can never be too safe.

Can anyone help me please..

If there is a registry entry I can check then perfect.. but I have not found
one online.

Thank you in advance,

Juan.

You say you sign in as limited account. Look up definition of limited
account. How can you install defender if you have limited account?

Juan Alonso's shooting lesson.
====================
Lesson 1: How to shoot yourself in the foot.
Great lesson. I'll give you 12 out of 10.

Can we have a sequel please, e.g. on "How to make a
complete fool of yourself"?

This problem was solved by Microsoft Free Phone Support for home users.

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition does not have Group Policy Snap-In.

There is a work around by a third party, so that you can add the Snap-In
into Home Edition.

You can google it.

Windows XP Home Edition: gpedit.msc (group policy) editing via registry

Anyway, Good luck and thanx to thoes out there that wanted to help but
couldn't.. lol
