PROBLEM WITH PASSWORD

C

Clare Carey

We have a new pc with Windows XP loaded, and we have
just imported a personal folder (.pst file that had
been created in Outlook 97) into an Outlook/Office 2000
version.
However, we have set up a new internet mail account
and although the mail account name & password have been
set up, the password will not be "remembered", (even though
you can select it to on setup), it defaults back to
wanting the password to be entered each time the mail
account is activated to "send/receive".

Can anyone help!?

Clare.

I am having the same problem with Outlook 2002. It seems no one has an answer
as to how to correct it. It gets very annoying having the password window
popping up all the time.

Having the same problem with Windows XP and Outlook
2002. It will save the passwords (I have 4 e-mail
accounts) as long as Outlook is open, but once I close it
I have to enter the passwords again the next time I open
Outlook.

My biggest problem is that every time I want to SEND e-
mail, I have to go into Tools/Accounts/Change to re-enter
the passwords for both incoming and outgoing mail, since
my ISP now requires authentication and Outlook does not
prompt for passwords when sending, only when receiving.
I've posted several requests here, but have been unable
to implement any of the suggested solutions.
