Can anyone please help. I recently got rid off Norton
Anti Virus Symantec software due to major problems
removing completely from my system (I know traces still
remain). I opted for Zone Alarm Firewall and AVG virus
software. I installed the AVG virus software yesteday.
This morming my computer is showing the message:

"A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT
DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER"

THE PROBLEMS SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY THE FOLLOWING FILE
NPDRIVER.SYS

....IT GOES ON TO STATE 'BEGINNING DUMP OF PHYSICAL
MEMORY, PHYSICAL MEMORY DUMP COMPLETE. CONTACT YOUR
SYSTEM ADMINSTRATOR.

I have a Dell pc with Windows XP, I have tried to call
them but on a Saturday they are not open.

Please help

Hi,

Seems Norton isn't completely gone yet. Npdriver.sys is one of their files.
At a guess, I would say that the file still exists (both in the system32
folder and possibly the cache) and should be deleted.
