I have a small Ethernet network at home and I have just upgraded one of the
computers from W98 to WXP.
When I run the Network Setup Wizard, I put in the Workgroup name as
'18_PENLON' which is the name used by all the other computers on the
network. It is also the name by which my network is recognised in a larger
wireless network of which my small network is a part.
However, if I run the Wizard again, I find that the Workgroup name has been
reset to 'MSHOME'. This happens repeatedly and there does not seem to be any
way that I can set the Workgroup name as '18_PENLON'.
How can I get the Workgroup name to be set correctly?
With thanks,
Gerry
