I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but the problem still exist.

Hi Tony,

Are you using any add-ins with Word 2007?
Do you get the same result if you hold the ctrl key while starting Word to put it into 'safe mode'?

It appears to be looking for a temporary/scratch file. If you go to the control panel and in the System choice look at,

Advanced=>[Environment variables]
where on your computer are the TEMP= and TMP= items pointing

Hi Bob,

No add-ons that I'm aware of. (How can I prove this?.)

Yes, same problem in Safe Mode.

Both "tmp" and "temp" read %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,

If you have the same issue in safe mode then any Add-ins are disabled.

With Word not running, from Start=>Search locate and send to the recycle bin files found with this search string
~$*.*;*.tmp

then restart Word to see if you get the same result.

What printer model are you using?

message:
I'm getting the same problem many have reported with word crashes.
The message I get is similar (but different code numbers): WRS
(F5F05791-D7AC-400C-BF43-B0D755558A19) Then a new word file pops up. It
seems to happen intermittedly. It looks like, from the thread I've read
here, that there may be multiple causes - maybe an HP printer driver problem,
program or h/w issues of course, or other issues. My question is: Did anyone
get this problem right after any downloaded Word updates? I received about an
hour of MS updates for my Premium Home Vista PC, immediately before the
problem first occurred, and don't think all of them were successful.
Then yesterday, the computer crashed with what I assume is a boilerplate
message re Driver_Power_State-Failure. Any suggestions on how to proceed
with a likelyu fix much appreciated.
