problem with looping

I have prepared a slide presentation using a 97 version of Powerpoint, which
I have used for one to one presentations without a problem. However, I now
want to use it at an exhibition to keep repeating. I have now upgraded to
Powerpoit 2003. I have automated the animations on each slide and they work
OK, I have also done all the things that "Help" tells you. Clicked on "set
up show", clicked "Browsed at kiosk", checked "loop continuously till esc",
checked "all slides". When I try to view the show, it loads the first slide
but that is all, it does not advance to the other slides even if you click
the mouse. You can only escape from it by "alt and tab" to get back to
powerpoint and closing the programme. I am getting desperate as the
exhibition starts in a few days time. Can anybody tell me what is wrong and
more importantl,y how to put it right

Peter,
Have you set a transition time to your slides. In the slide transition task
pane, apply a timing next to automatically after. Click on apply to all
slides.
Or, if you want, you can rehearse timings in the slideshow and use these. Go
to slidesorter view, click on the rehearse timing button in the slidesorter
toolbar. Now click on the next arrow each time you want an item to be shown,
repeat the process, at the end you will be asked if you want to use the
recorded timings, click yes.
