Problem with Ink Cartridge in Lexmark X5250 All-In-One Printer HE

I have a Lexmark X5250 All-In-One Printer and I have just installed a new
Black ink cartridge (Number 32) and an error message keeps appearing in the
window of the printer quote: "right cartridge incorrect". I have not had to
install a new colour cartridge and in case I have disturbed the right
cartridge I have taken it out and replaced it in case it had become
dislodged. The error message did not clear after doing this.

I have tried to print a document even with this error message showing - the
printer goes to print and paper feeds through but the page is blank.

An email has been sent to Lexmark but I expect it will take days for them to
respond so if anyone out there who has a similar printer can help as a matter
of urgency I would be really grateful.

Did you remove the tape seal from the bottom of the new ink cartridge?

Is this ink cartridge an original Lexmark cartridge? Lexmark places a small
chip in their cartridges so that their printer would only accept original
cartridges and not compatibles or refilled ones.

Hi Y. As far as I am aware it is an original Lexmark - looks the same and came in a Lexmark box etc. However I did buy this particular one from someone on eBay - (oh dear!) If it is the fault of the replacement black cartridge why is the error message on the printer associated with the other (colour) cartridge which has not been replaced?
