problem with filters

Running Outlook 2k on Win2k

I have been using a filter to dispose of obvious spam, using the Rules
Wizard to set up a rule checking for a list of character strings in
the subject. This was working as expected for several weeks, then
suddenly stopped working. Now, when I find things in my Inbox that
should have been filtered, I can open the Rules Wizard, select 'run
now', select my custom filter, select 'run now', and the messages get
processed out of my Inbox as expected. So why isn't the filter
getting them when they come in instead of waiting for me to run it
manually?

I searched the ng archives, but didn't find anything that looked like
this problem.

Im having the same problem, I also went as far as installing GFI Mail esential to try to help me but it seems the spam is beating me at my own game any help PLEASE???

Do you have "stop processing more rules" at the end of these rules, to
prevent more than one rule from acting on a particular message? Sometimes
if multiple rules act on a message when you don't expect them to, it may
appear as if the rules aren't working at all.
