I have a Dell Dimension 8200 computer with windows XP Pro (SP2) and the
latest MS Security updates. Within the last two days using the Gear DVD
Standard Edition and the Symantec Livestate Recovery Desktop recording
programs, an error message has appeared in the Event Viewer, System section.
The error entry appears when I accomplish the Verify function, after the DVD
recording is completed. My recording device is the Plextor PX 712A and it
has been very reliable so far. As best as I can tell, there are no other
problems with the computer.
It may be a random type problem, as I was able to accomplish a GEAR DVD
recording with a successful Verify earlier this morning. Could this be an
early indication of a HD sector failure or memory failure?? I should note
that before I attempt any recordings, I shutdown NAV 2006, BoClean, ZAPro,
and Screen Saver. Any suggestions/help would be very much appreciated, Sam.
