Problem with Document Map in Word 2007?

F

Faith

I have all my styles properly formatted to display in the Document Map pane,
but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Often I get a portion of the
map to display, and the rest is gobbledy-gook. It's not just one particular
document, either.

Anyone else having this problem?

Are you saying that there are more paragraphs in the Document Map than you
want, or are you saying that it is in fact unreadable?

I'm saying that some of the document map displays, and some doesn't. And
sometimes the document map pane displays weird, unreadable text.

The headings/styles that DO display in the map pane are the same
headings/styles used in other areas of the docs, but they all do not display.

I'm using custom styles in my docs, but I have assigned them their proper
outline level, so that's not the issue.

I'm wondering if I need to reload or repair Office ....

You could try repairing Office, but I'm not sure it would help. A more
likely culprit, I suspect, is the display driver installed with Windows.
