Problem with directx or Video card drivers

I tried to install the drivers for my Radeon 9000 graphical card and Directx 9.0. When I finished I reboot Win Xp and now it cannot start. I have tried by all the possible ways: boot normal, safe, boot last known working. etc....,even tried to repair it from Win CD and recovery console, but always the same, a black screen with the cursor in the top left corner
Is it any way to restore the system (I remember in Win 98 you could recover your system files by hand), or any tip to uninstall directx and Radeon drivers to force it to boot

I tried all these solutions, but didn't work (repaired from cd, recovery console) Any way to restore system from system simbol from recovery console?
