problem with direct play voice

I recently conducted a voice test for direct play voice
using the direct x tools and the test failed. it reported
a error code: 0x80004005 and then said to go to
add/remove and install dpvsetup.exe. it doesn't list the
file in add/remove section. Can anyone help me with this
problem? Thank you for your help.p.s. i have a hp 522n
running windows xp/sp1 and direct x 9.0b.

Sincerely, don

Do you get the same error if you go to the Run dialog box (Start -> Run) and
type in "dpvsetup /t" without the quotes and hit Enter?

Hi Joshua,

I followed your directions and run dpvsetup /t from the
run command and it still says the same error" an error
occurred during directplay voice setup. error code
0x80004005. Do you have anymore ideas on this problem?
thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Sincerely, Don

Can you post or send me a "dxdiag" report of your system?

1. Start -> Run -> type dxdiag -> hit Enter.
2. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool press the "Save All Information..." button
and save the results.

Thanks

Hi

I am experiencing the same problem and still have no clue
on how to fix it. I'm reading all your suggestions and then
trying them with no luck.
If anyone have any other suggestions, please let me know has this is getting quite frustrating.
