I've just installed CDex and the newest ASPI layer from adaptec webpage.
But CDex is complaining:
"Failed to load wnaspi32.dll driver!"

Any ideas ?

This is one case when the latest drivers aren't always the best option-

Under "Guides" click on ASPI Layer Drivers and have a read.
What version of windows are you using?

With Win98/ME that file should be in windows\system. In Win2000 in
winnt\system32 and in WinXP in windows\system32. Is it?

If it is and has been registered, newest isn't necessarily best...use
aspi v4.6 via forceaspi.exe

done it. But CDex is still complaining.

Running XP home SP2, 1.51, and Nero so this may not apply, but...
I recognized Jason's guide, pretty sure I've used it to tweak CDEX, but
concerning ASPI I went a different way.
1. I did not put a copy of winaspi32.dll in the CDEX folder; I left
everything the way Nero installed it, and Nero works just fine.
2. Even though Nero's Infotool says Windows ASPI is not installed, CDEX
won't run (getting the same error you're getting) unless I check the
native NT SCSI library box on the CD drive settings tab.

Good luck

Dave
