hi!

my system:

HP nx8220 notebook with 15.4'' display.
Intel Pentium M 2 GHz
MS Windows XP Professional SP3

ESET NOD32 is running.

my problem:

Windows Explorer does not list downmost three or four items (files or folders).

for example:
i get into a folder. there are many folders, so because of that, only upper most folders are displayed. in my mp3 folder 43 folders are displayed in details view. downmost 16 folders are not displayed. they are downwards out of window. so I strike "S" key to got to folder having a name starting with leter "S"... Yes it goes... but the downmost of Windows Explorer window displays folders three or four folders uppper then the first folder with "S".

interestingly when i scroll down with the scroll bar i see the first "S" folder is selected. Windows Explorer does not display the folder even if it is selected!

so why does not Windows Explorer display selected folders (in details view)???

remember it acts as if they are displayed. the window scrolls down. but stops three or four rows (folders) upper then it should be.

so could you help me with this?

thanx in advance...

regards...

Hi,

Am stretching my knowledge a bit here but,

It could be a registry problem and you might need to reset the settings in Windows explorer as the registry might be corrupt.

To do so do the following:

Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).

Locate the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags

Make sure you backup the keys by exporting them to a .reg file.

Delete the keys. You've just returned XP to the out-of-the-box settings.

Close the registry editor.

Restart your computer.

Customize your folder views.

Now the new folder views should remain in place.

You might wanna wait until someone else gives a suggestion, or not.
